What’s The Endless Mission?
The Endless Mission is a sandbox-style creation game that takes players on a hero’s journey through a rich narrative world where they develop the power and opportunity to craft games and experiences of their own in the Unity engine – all while challenging forces larger than themselves. Those who embark upon The Endless Mission are invited to mashup, mix, and modify games across a wide variety of beloved genres, even manipulating the essence of the game down to the very code itself – creating new experiences and gameplay opportunities as they discover what is at stake for the world as we know it.

Wait a minute – aren’t you the people who created Never Alone?
You bet! The team here at E-Line Media developed and published the award-winning Never Alone in 2014.

How long has The Endless Mission been in development?
Development for The Endless Mission began in Summer 2017.

When will it be available?
We’re targeting a Steam Early Access release in Summer 2018.

What are you using the create the game?
We’re building The Endless Mission in Unity.

The game will be released for PC on Steam Early Access.

Why Early Access?
We wanted to launch The Endless Mission on Early Access because we want to be able to involve the community as soon as possible in the development of the game. The Endless Mission, at its core, is a creation sandbox game with a powerful toolset that will let those who accept the mission build some amazing creations, situated in a narrative so the Early Access community will be critical in helping inform what tools we should introduce, what genres we should explore next, and evolving the narrative.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
We anticipate The Endless Mission coming out of Early Access in 2019.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
The full version of The Endless mission will see additional genres being released, multiplayer content creation tools, additional tools that will allow for more creative exploration, and a continued expansion of the story and narrative.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?
The Early Access version of The Endless Mission will have both story and creative mode.  The story mode features the initial story arc and mission content that will walk players through using the tool-sets while they explore the world.  The creative mode allows for players to dive instantly into tools and begin creating mashups and custom games via the game’s conjuring and modding mechanic.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
Yes, the price of The Endless Mission will increase once it is out of Early Access.  However, E-Line Media has no plans to charge for any DLC throughout the life of the game.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
The community is one of the primary reasons that we are choosing to launch The Endless Mission on Early Access.  This is an ambitious game in terms of the range of genres that can be mashed up, the scope of the story, and power of the creation tools – so having a dedicated community along with us on this journey is going to be amazing. Currently we’re planning on having weekly developer blog updates to share, hosting themed challenges that will highlight community generated content, and listening to the community to help inform us on what features and game genres they want to see integrated into The Endless Mission over time.
